Let’s talk about high-resolution audio. It has been gaining popularity recently, not only among audiophiles but also among people who appreciate good sound quality at home. High-resolution audio aims to capture and reproduce music as closely as possible to its original recording.

To enjoy high-resolution sound at home, you need special equipment. For example, AV receivers. This is what we will talk about today: what this format is, its features, how and with what equipment it can be played back, etc. There will be a lot of interesting information, so let’s spend the next few minutes together.

Understanding high-resolution audio

So, what exactly is this hi-res audio format? It’s a sonic experience that goes beyond what we typically hear from standard audio formats like MP3s. It’s like upgrading from a regular movie to an HD extravaganza.

So, what sets high-resolution audio apart from the usual tunes we stream or download every day? It’s all in the details, literally. Hi-res audio packs more data into every second of music. This is where ‘bit depth’ and ‘sampling rate’ come into play. Bit depth is like the audio’s paint palette – the higher it is, the more shades of sound you get. And the sampling rate? It’s how many times the audio is captured per second. High-resolution tracks use a bigger bit depth and a higher sampling rate than standard files, meaning you get a richer sound.

With HD audio, you’ll experience unparalleled clarity and accuracy in every note. Imagine hearing every breath taken by your favorite vocalist, every pluck of the guitar strings, or the tiniest cymbal clash in a drum kit. That’s the kind of level of detail and depth that hi-res audio can bring to your listening experience.

From a broader perspective, high-resolution audio can also reveal hidden depths in songs that you never knew existed. It can present details and subtleties that reveal themselves only through a higher-quality format.

The evolution of home audio formats

Remember the days when vinyl ruled? Those large discs were more than music carriers; they were like holding a piece of art. Then CDs burst onto the scene, compact and shiny, promising crystal-clear sound in a much smaller package. At the time, I was blown away by how many songs you could fit into that little disc!

But then, digital happened. At first, I was skeptical. The convenience was undeniable – who doesn’t love carrying the entire music collection in the pocket? However, something felt off. The richness and warmth I loved in vinyl and even CDs seemed diluted. Digital formats lost some of that audio magic in their quest to be compact. It was like watching your favorite movie on a fuzzy screen – you get the story, but the experience is lackluster.

Here’s where the plot twists: the resurgence of high-resolution audio. It’s like we all collectively realized, “Hey, we don’t have to settle for subpar sound!” High-res audio brought back that depth and detail I missed, making digital music convenient and truly immersive. I remember the first time I listened to a hi-res track; it was like hearing my favorite song for the first time again. The layers, the nuances – it was all there.

AV receivers and high-resolution audio

A budget AV receiver would be well-suited for the task when you’re looking for a solid choice without breaking the bank. They’re like the conductors of an orchestra, seamlessly blending various high-res audio sources into one harmonious output.

Modern AVRs are incredibly convenient. These models are equipped with built-in DACs (Digital-to-Analog Converters) that are necessary for converting digital high-resolution files into the detailed and lush sound we all desire. In addition, they support various music file formats, such as FLAC, WAV, DSD, and many others.

These days, AV receivers are not shy about flexing their network muscles. With Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities, streaming high-res audio from your favorite online platforms or devices is a breeze.

Sources of high-resolution audio

Alright, so where do you get your hands on this amazing high-resolution audio? There are a few cool options out there. First up, streaming services. Yes, the same ones we use daily are stepping up their game. Many now offer high-res audio tracks – it’s like finding hidden treasures in your usual playlists.

Then there’s the world of downloads. Websites dedicated to high-quality music offer tracks in formats like FLAC or WAV. It’s like going to a gourmet food store, but for your ears – everything just tastes, or rather sounds, better.

And let’s not forget about physical media. Remember SACDs (Super Audio CDs)? They’re like the vinyl records of the digital age. Popping one into a compatible player is like stepping into a studio where the album was recorded. The depth and clarity are mind-blowing.

Now, the cool part is how these sources play nice with AV receivers. Modern receivers are pretty much ready to handle all these formats. They’re like the universal translators for high-res audio. You plug in your music source, and suddenly, your living room transforms into a concert hall or a jazz club, depending on your mood.

I bet you’ve wondered why your favorite songs sound different in different rooms. Well, that’s the magic (or sometimes, the not-so-magical reality) of room acoustics.

In the next couple of minutes, I’ll try to clarify how room acoustics impact sound and why it’s a groundbreaker for your home music listening experience. We’ll unpack the mysteries of echo, reverb, and all things acoustic, and by the end of it, you’ll have the inside scoop on how to transform your living space into the ultimate music sanctuary.

Basics of room acoustics

Every room has its own unique personality when it comes to sound. It’s like the room’s reaction to sound is its way of telling you, “This is how I roll!”

First up, we’ve got sound absorption. Think of it as the room’s ability to soak up sound like a sponge. The more absorbent the materials in your space, the less sound will bounce around like a hyperactive pinball. Carpets, curtains, and plush furniture? They’re your besties for absorbing sound and creating a cozy acoustic atmosphere.

Next, we’ve got reflection. Some surfaces in your room can be pretty cheeky when it comes to sound – they bounce it around like a ping-pong ball. Mirrors, glass, and smooth walls are prime suspects. But don’t ditch them just yet; a little reflection can add zest to your audio landscape.

Now, let’s chat about diffusion. Imagine sound rays doing a dance instead of following a straight path. That’s what diffusion is all about. It scatters sound in various directions, reducing the risk of annoying echoes and making your music feel alive and kicking.

Lastly, we’ve got transmission. This one’s a sneaky character – it lets sound sneak through walls, floors, and ceilings. Good insulation can be your superhero here, keeping unwanted noise out and keeping your sweet melodies in.

Common acoustic challenges in home settings

You press “Play” on your favorite track, eager to analyze the music’s magic, but instead, you get a less-than-stellar listening-to music-at-home experience. Why does that happen, you ask? Well, it’s all about those pesky acoustic challenges that lurk in our modern dwellings.

Conquering the echo effect

Echo is like that annoying friend who won’t stop repeating everything you say. It bounces sound waves off walls, floors, and ceilings, creating a confusing mishmash of audio that makes you question your music choices. On the other hand, unclear sound and bass buildup can turn your favorite tunes into a muffled mess. These acoustic hurdles can seriously cramp your style and distract you from the music you love.

The role of room size and shape

Believe it or not, the dimensions of your room play a starring role in your listening experience. Small rooms might make your music feel cramped, while large ones can make it sound hollow. Oddly shaped rooms can introduce all sorts of sonic quirks. But fret not because the right room configuration can work wonders. Think strategically about speaker placement, seating arrangements, and acoustic treatment to balance sound distribution.

Impact of furniture and decor

Now, let’s give a round of applause to the furniture, curtains, rugs, and decor. These seemingly ordinary items hold the power to be acoustic superheroes or villains. Soft furnishings absorb sound, while hard surfaces like glass and metal can bounce it around. So, here’s the tip: strategically position soft elements to soak up excess noise and create a more harmonious listening environment.

DIY acoustic treatments

As you can see, room acoustics shape your listening experience more than you might think. But fear not because we’re not going the traditional route. Nope, we’re all about keeping it cool and budget-friendly!

First off, DIY sound bars. These babies work wonders in taming those unwanted echoes and reverbs. Grab some foam panels, strategically place them on your walls, and voilà! You’ve just dialed up the sound quality in your space. Plus, it’s like modern art for your room.

Now, a few words about the bookshelves. They can also double as acoustic heroes for storing your favorite reads. Pop in some books, records, or decorative knick-knacks to break up sound reflections. Stylish AND sound-smart – it’s a win-win.

But don’t forget the balance between aesthetics and acoustics. Sure, we want our space to look sharp, but not at the expense of our ears. Find that sweet spot where your room looks great and sounds even better.

Advanced acoustic solutions

Alright, let’s turn up the volume on our home music setup! You’ve got the basics of room acoustics down, but if you’re a real music aficionado, there’s a whole world of advanced acoustic solutions waiting to elevate your listening experience.

Imagine this: you’re in the middle of an epic guitar solo, but it lacks that rich, resonant depth. That’s where bass traps come into play. They soak up those rogue bass frequencies, giving your music the deep, immersive quality it deserves. It’s like giving your sound system a turbo boost.

Now, let’s talk about diffusers. These devices scatter sound waves in all the right ways, turning those annoying echoes into a harmonious symphony. You’ll feel like you’re right there in the recording studio.

Plus, acoustic panels. These stylish wonders jazz up your decor and tame unwanted echoes and reverberations. They’re a must for anyone who wants their tunes to sound as crisp as a freshly baked baguette.

So when do you need these advanced acoustic goodies? If you’re serious about your music, want to feel every beat in your soul, and are tired of your room playing tricks on your ears – that’s when.

Do you love listening to music? If so, you’re not alone. Millions of people around the world enjoy listening to their favorite songs. Did you know that music can be created with electronic devices?

Electronic devices that are used to create music include synthesizers, drum machines, and samplers. Synthesizers are electronic instruments that can generate a wide variety of sounds. They are often used to create the lead melody in a song. Drum machines are electronic devices that generate rhythms and beats. Samplers are electronic devices that can record and playback sounds.

There are many benefits of using electronic devices to create music:

  • One benefit is that you can create any sound that you want. If you can imagine it, you can probably create it with an electronic device;
  • Another benefit is that these devices often come with built-in effects that can add more depth and dimension to your music;
  • Finally, using electronic devices to create music can help you develop your musical skills. By experimenting with different sounds and effects, you can learn a lot about music composition and arrangement;

In this blog post, we will discuss some of the most common electronic devices that are used to create music. We will also talk about the benefits of using these devices and how they can help you improve your musical skills!

Popular Electronic Devices to Create Music

Audio Interfaces

An audio interface is a device used to convert analog audio signals into digital audio signals. Audio interfaces are used in a variety of settings, including recording studios, live sound venues, and home studios.

Audio interfaces typically have inputs and outputs for microphones, instruments, and line-level sources. Some also have MIDI inputs and outputs for controlling virtual instruments and other devices.

Most audio interfaces connect to a computer via USB or Thunderbolt, although some models use Firewire or Ethernet.

Audio interfaces can be standalone units or they can be built into mixing consoles or other larger pieces of equipment.

Popular audio interface brands include Focusrite, Universal Audio, Presonus, Steinberg, and Zoom.

MIDI controllers

These electronic devices are used to create and manipulate sounds. They can be used to play notes, trigger samples, and control effects. MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) controllers come in a variety of shapes and sizes, from simple ones that look like keyboards to more complex ones that have multiple pads and faders.

MIDI controllers are an essential piece of equipment for any electronic musician. If you’re just starting, you may want to consider getting a primary keyboard controller. As you become more experienced, you can add more specialized controllers to your setup.

Popular MIDI controller brands include Akai, Korg, Native Instruments, and Novation.

Equalizers

Equalizers are used to adjust the level of specific frequencies in an audio signal. They can be used to boost or cut certain frequencies, which can help you achieve the desired sound (e.g., making a guitar sound brighter or a kick drum sound more powerful).

Equalizers come in a variety of types, including graphic equalizers, parametric equalizers, and shelf equalizers.

Graphic equalizers have fixed frequency bands that you can boost or cut using knobs or faders. Parametric equalizers give you more control over the exact frequencies you want to adjust. Shelf equalizers let you boost or cut all frequencies above or below a certain point (i.e., high-pass and low-pass filters).

Popular equalizer brands include Behringer, DBX, Yamaha, and Mackie.

Compressors/Limiters

Compressors and limiters are used to control the dynamics of an audio signal. They can be used to reduce the level of loud peaks (e.g., a drum hit), or to increase the overall level of a signal (e.g., vocals).

Compressors typically have controls for threshold, ratio, attack, release, and makeup gain. Limiters are similar to compressors but they have a higher ratio and they prevent the signal from going above a certain threshold (i.e., they act as a brick-wall filter).

Popular compressor/limiter brands include DBX, Drawmer, Focusrite, and Waves.

Synthesizers

Synthesizers are electronic devices that are used to generate sounds. They can imitate existing sounds (e.g., a piano) or create new and unique sounds (e.g., an electric guitar). Synthesizers are used to generate sounds by generating waveforms in a variety of ways, including subtractive synthesis, additive synthesis, and frequency modulation synthesis.

Synthesizers come in a variety of types:

  • Analog synthesizers use voltage-controlled oscillators to generate sound;
  • Digital synthesizers use digital signal processing to generate sound;
  • Virtual analog synthesizers use algorithms to emulate the sound of analog synthesizers;

Popular synthesizer brands include Korg, Roland, Yamaha, and Moog.

Effects Units, Reverb, Delay, and Looping Devices

These devices can be used to process and manipulate the sound of an electronic instrument or voice. They can also be used to create special effects, such as echo or delay. Some effects units can be used to create loops, which allow a musician to repeat a section of music over and over again.

Reverb is an effect that simulates the sound of an acoustic space, such as a room or concert hall.

Delay is an effect that repeats a sound after a short period.

Looping is a technique that allows a musician to repeat a section of music indefinitely.

Effects units are available in both hardware (physical) and software (virtual) form factors. Hardware effects units are usually rack-mounted, while software effects units can be used with a laptop or desktop computer.

Electronic musical instruments can be played alone or in combination with other instruments. They can also be played through a loudspeaker system or headphones. When multiple electronic instruments are played together, this is known as an ensemble performance.

If you’re interested in creating music with electronic devices, there are a few things that you need to know:

  • First, you’ll need to choose the right device for your needs. There are many different types of electronic devices on the market, so it’s important to do your research before making a purchase;
  • Second, you’ll need to learn how to use the device. This may require reading the manual or watching tutorials online;
  • Finally, once you’ve mastered the basics, you can start experimenting with different sounds and effects! Who knows, maybe one day you’ll be able to create a hit song using nothing but electronic devices;

FAQ

How can I make my electronic music?

The answer to this question is not as simple as it may seem. There are a variety of electronic devices that can be used to create music, and the type of device you use will depend on the type of music you want to create.

For example, if you want to create dance music, you might use a drum machine or a synthesizer. If you want to create ambient or atmospheric music, you might use a sampler or an effects processor. And if you want to create rock or pop music, you might use an electric guitar or bass.

Of course, these are just some examples of the many different types of electronic devices that can be used to create music. The best way to figure out which device is right for you is to experiment with different devices and see what kinds of sounds you can create. There are no wrong answers when it comes to making electronic music, so don’t be afraid to experiment!

One important thing to keep in mind when creating electronic music is that the quality of your sound will largely depend on the quality of your equipment. If you’re using low-quality equipment, your music will likely sound low-quality as well.

Conversely, if you use high-quality equipment, your music will likely sound high-quality as well. Of course, this isn’t always the case – there are some very talented producers who can make great-sounding music even with low-quality equipment – but it’s something to keep in mind nonetheless.

What do most EDM producers use?

In the 21st century, electronic dance music has exploded in popularity. Anyone with a functional home computer and access to digital audio workstation (DAW) software may produce EDM music. So, what electronic devices do most EDM producers use to create their music?

Most EDM producers use some form of audio interface to connect their computer to external speakers or headphones. This allows them to hear the music they are creating as they are making it, and also gives them the ability to record their creations.

In addition to an audio interface, most EDM producers also use a MIDI controller. A MIDI controller is an electronic device that produces sound when connected to a computer. MIDI controllers come in many different shapes and sizes, but they all serve the same purpose: to allow the user to create music by controlling the sound that is produced by the computer.

Finally, many EDM producers also use external synthesizers to create their music. A synthesizer is an electronic device that produces sound by generating electrical signals.

Synthesizers come in many different forms, from small desktop units to large modular units. They can be used to create a wide variety of sounds, from traditional instruments to completely new and unique sounds.

How do I start an EDM song?

If you’re new to creating electronic dance music, it can be helpful to start with a pre-made song template. You can find these online, or in some software programs. Once you have a basic understanding of how the song is put together, you can start experimenting with your sounds and beats.

Another way to get started is to use an online beat maker. These are usually very user-friendly and allow you to create simple songs without much experience.

Once you have a basic idea of how to create an EDM song, you can start experimenting with more complex sounds and rhythms. There are many great resources available online that can help you learn more about making electronic music.

Which is the best DAW (digital audio workstations) for beginners?

This is a difficult question to answer, as there are many different types of DAWs available on the market, and each has its own set of features and capabilities. Some DAWs are better suited for specific genres of music, while others may be more versatile.

Ultimately, the best DAW for a beginner is the one that they feel most comfortable using. Many manufacturers offer free trial versions of their software, so it’s worth trying out a few different options before settling on one.

Another important factor to consider when choosing a DAW is the type of computer you’re using. Some DAWs are only compatible with certain types of computers, so it’s important to make sure that your chosen software will work with your system. Macs and PCs typically have different types of audio interface ports, so you’ll need to ensure that your chosen DAW has the correct drivers for your computer.

Once you’ve decided on a DAW, it’s time to start thinking about the other hardware and software you’ll need to create music. Audio interfaces are an important piece of equipment for any musician, as they allow you to connect your instruments and microphones to your computer. If you’re planning on recording vocals or acoustic instruments, then you’ll also need a good-quality microphone. These days, there are many affordable options available, so it’s worth doing some research to find the best one for your needs.

Finally, don’t forget about the importance of having a good set of speakers. Your monitors will be your main way of hearing the music you’re creating, so it’s important to choose a pair that reproduces sound accurately. Active monitors are a good option for most people, as they don’t require an external amplifier.

In the digital age, social media platforms have become powerful tools for shaping and influencing popular culture. One area where social media has had a profound impact is the music industry. Platforms like TikTok have emerged as major catalysts for the rise of new trends, transforming unknown artists into overnight sensations and propelling established musicians to even greater heights. In this article, we will explore how social media, particularly TikTok, has revolutionized the way we discover, consume, and share music.

A video-sharing app launched in 2016, quickly gained popularity worldwide, especially among younger audiences. It allows users to create and share short videos, often set to music snippets. The app’s algorithm-driven “For You” page provides a personalized feed of content, making it easy for users to discover new songs and artists. With its viral challenges and dance crazes, he has become a breeding ground for music trends, turning catchy hooks and memorable lyrics into cultural phenomena.

One notable example influence on music trends is the meteoric rise of Lil Nas X and his hit song “Old Town Road.” Initially released independently in 2018, the song gained traction on TikTok, with users incorporating it into their videos and creating line-dancing routines. The infectious nature of the track, combined with its exposure on the platform, propelled it to mainstream success. “Old Town Road” broke records, spending a record-breaking 19 weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, demonstrating the power of social media in breaking new artists.

Impact on music trends extends beyond individual songs and artists. The platform has also revived interest in older tracks and genres. Through challenges like the “Renaissance” trend, users rediscover and share forgotten songs, introducing them to a new generation. This revitalization of older music demonstrates the democratizing effect, as listeners have access to a vast catalog of songs and genres, transcending geographical and temporal boundaries.

Other social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube play significant roles in shapingtrends. Artists and record labels utilize these platforms to engage with fans, share updates, and release new music. They also act as channels for fans to express their support and help drive the popularity of particular songs or artists.

Twitter, known for its real-time conversations, has become a hub for music discussions and fandoms. Artists interact with their followers directly, building personal connections and generating buzz around their work. Twitter’s trending topics feature highlights music-related hashtags, making it easier for users to participate in conversations surrounding a particular song or artist.

YouTube, the largest video-sharing platform, has long been influential in the music industry. It serves as a hub for official videos, lyric videos, live performances, and fan-generated content. Recommendation algorithm exposes users to a wide range of music, often leading them down a rabbit hole of related songs and artists. Viral videos and covers posted on YouTube have the potential to launch the careers of aspiring musicians, providing them with a platform to showcase their talent to a global audience.

Instagram, a visual-centric platform, has also become a crucial marketing tool for musicians. Artists use to share behind-the-scenes glimpses, previews of new songs, and promote upcoming projects. The platform’s Stories feature enables artists to engage with fans through Q&A sessions, polls, and exclusive content, fostering a sense of intimacy and loyalty.

While it offers unprecedented opportunities for exposure and discovery, it also poses challenges for artists and the music industry as a whole. The fast-paced nature of social media can result in short-lived fame and quickly shifting trends. Artists must navigate the fine line between catering to viral sensations and maintaining artistic integrity.

Moreover, the algorithms that drive social media platforms can perpetuate a filter bubble, where users are exposed to similar content, limiting their exposure to diverse music. This poses a challenge for lesser-known artists who may struggle to break through the noise and reach new audiences.

In conclusion, social media, particularly TikTok, has revolutionized the music industry, transforming the way we discover, consume, and share music. It has given rise to new artists and revived interest in older tracks, blurring the boundaries of musical genres and creating a more inclusive and interconnected global music landscape. Its impact on music trends is undeniable. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, it will be fascinating to see how social media platforms shape the future of music.

To understand what lies ahead, you have to look back – all the answers are there. We tell you about audio marketing in 2021 and give you a forecast for the future. The pandemic gave a powerful boost to a trend that started a long time ago, and this year, Mark Zuckerberg and his metaclassical universe added to its momentum. The real and virtual worlds have more and more points of contact. Music and entertainment are among them.

Among the high-profile cases for the third year in a row are virtual concerts by popular artists in the free computer game Fortnite. Neither online nor offline, no one has ever gathered such a number of viewers. In 2020, 27 million people entered the game to listen to rapper Travis Scott – the total audience of three performances. An absolute record. In 2021, Epic Games developers have arranged a similar online tour for pop singer Ariana Grande.

Beneficial integration for both artist and brand on three counts at once:

  1. Audience Exchange;
  2. Creating an emotional connection with gamers and listeners;
  3. A powerful infomercial;
  4. Multiplied by two and, as a consequence, additional monetization.

Music Programming Will Be Handled By A Neural Network

Artificial intelligence is learning to understand people better. Our preferences are already well understood by apps for listening to music, watching movies and ordering groceries, recommending cherry yogurt, “Home Alone” and “Hop hey la-la-la-la”.

In business services, neural networks are also taking over much of the work. Sound Business, for example, has smart algorithms that tag tracks based on several parameters:

  • Genres;
  • Speed;
  • Mood;
  • Presence or absence of vocals.

They make up hours of professional playlists. This option allows marketers to spend more time on music strategies and working with audio as a sales tool, rather than matching each individual track.

Sounds Even Where It Was Quiet Before

Not only selling a product and service, but giving the customer an experience is a priority for businesses today. And creating a unique user experience is helped by music.

If in the past we used to voice stores, cafes, shopping malls, gas stations, hotels, now more and more requests come from industries where music is rare – for example:

  • Medical centers;
  • Pharmacies;
  • Educational centers;
  • Bank branches;
  • Maternity hospitals;
  • Metal warehouses;
  • Funeral parlors and many other establishments.

The growth in demand for audio marketing is also evidenced by the numbers of plays.

What is the effectiveness of musical voiceover in Canadian online casinos?

Best Rated Online Casinos Canada have been increasingly using musical voiceover in their promotions and website design in order to attract new customers. But does this actually work? Numerous studies have shown that music has a significant effect on human psychology and can be used to influence emotions, memory, and even behavior. Additionally, research has shown that people are more likely to take action when they are exposed to music that they like. Therefore, it’s not surprising that Canadian online casinos are using music to try and encourage people to gamble. While there is no guarantee that musical voiceover will lead to increased gambling activity, it is certainly a strategy worth considering for those looking to attract new customers.

The Quantity And Quality Of Audio Advertising On Platforms Will Grow

Marketers have had their eye on this tool for a long time, but not everyone has learned how to work with it at 10 out of 10. Well, now is the time. The demand for promotion in the audio channel will grow.

According to studies, 72% of listeners pay attention to the videos posted in the audio stream, and 68% do not mind listening to them if there is information about discounts or promotions. The channel shows excellent engagement.

Thanks to the development of technology, it will be easier and more convenient to work with it – marketers will have more tools to conduct experiments themselves and capture the results of campaigns in real time.

For example, Business has a special scheduler for audio ads for this purpose. A user can upload a clip to the playlist on the site and set a broadcast rule for it – an interval or a specific time of playback – and then just as easily remove it from the stream.

Brands Know Exactly How They Want To Sound

Increasingly, we are being approached with a music strategy already in place. The understanding of what background music should sound like is formed internally, based on an analysis of the target audience and business objectives. And this is the only correct approach.

Unusual Solutions Instead Of Standard Ones

Among the genres in the HoReCa segment in 2021, the leader was the organic house. It is an original dance style with a touch of ethnics, each track is different from the next one – it is quite a bold decision. Brands are not afraid to try something new and trendy. Gradually moving away from popular music from the radio and TV.

Cross-Platform Music Solutions Will Emerge

Music is everywhere: in headphones on the bus on the way to work, in a cafe with a cup of coffee, in the store, and in the car on the way home. Therefore the creation of a unified technological music platform is a logical decision.

The first major integration of B2B and B2C solutions happened this year – Music lab joined the largest ecosystem and now acts under its own brand, in tandem with B2C service Business Sound for private music listening. This allows brands to offer more touchpoints with customers even outside of their physical venues. Exactly how this works can be seen in the example of brand profiles in the user app.

Music Marketing Lessons

For those of us who make our living in the music business, there are many reasons to celebrate lately. The industry has jumped from about $16.1 billion CAD earned in 2016 to more than 43 billion CAD in 2017, and 2018 has already seen another meteoric jump in revenue with more than CA$51.5 billion recorded to date.

The new model, which has been in the chrysalis for about a decade, has finally started to come out of its cocoon and show itself to the world. There are still a lot of kinks left, most notably the fact that artists only took home about 12% of the C$43 billion in 2017, but the fact that the money is coming in at the rate it is now suggests that we may finally be back to the golden days, or at least the ability to pay our bills.

Not surprisingly, about 75% of revenue comes through streaming and online radio, so there doesn’t seem to be much time spent discussing this issue. However, it’s important for artists to know how to plan marketing around their music in order to direct that money. With that in mind, here are some tips we learned in 2018 on where to spend your marketing efforts and budget.

Go Straight To The Flueiners

At the agency, we’ve always strived to keep a hyper focus on direct marketing from fans. As people moved away from seeking new music from those dubbed “gatekeepers” (i.e. radio, blogs, music magazine), we shifted our focus primarily to streaming and those people that fans, especially young people, follow daily: influencers. Whether it’s a brand or someone with 50,000 followers on Spotify, a personality on YouTube or a star on Instagram , there are many ways to get fans to listen organically in their daily lives without relying on them looking for new music.

YouTube is the number one resource for music discovery, so it’s important to target fans there. That could mean submitting to a blog like Suicide Sheep, Majestic Casual or David Dean Burkhart for inclusion, or it could mean working with stars in the world of gaming, parkour, fitness, makeup or any other popular field to add their music to the background of their next music video. The same can be said for Instagram Snapchat, where getting influencers to include your music in a video or post their story from your show can give you instant credibility and a bunch of plays and subscribers.

Spotify Is Important, But Don’t Overlook Amazon

I’ve been preaching the Amazon angle for a long time, but I feel more and more confident about it as they roll out more updates to their service. They have one of the largest paid conversion rates and have strengthened their original content throughout the year with plans to expand that element of their offerings in 2019.

They recently introduced a new voice feature that allows listeners to customize their listening experience by talking to Alexa. Amazon has surpassed Apple in music streaming volume for the first time, and because of its increased market share, Apple has been forced to allow users to play Apple Music on their Amazon-owned Alexa devices.

Join Amazon Music right now before it reaches the importance of Spotify, and it becomes even harder to connect with.

The Changing Role That Blogs Play In Campaigns

Blogs are still important, but not in the way we traditionally thought of them. A feature in a respected publication won’t attract new fans like it used to, but that catchy quote still comes in handy when you follow other things like tours, shows, playlisting and radio.

In many ways, the press campaign has become an industry resource rather than a method of direct contact with fans. That doesn’t mean people don’t read blogs anymore, but a premiere with even the best output would still only amount to a few hundred plays in which it insured tens of thousands of streams. On the other hand, if you can catch the ear of a respected writer who tells your story in a larger editorial piece, that might be enough to cut through the clutter and reach enough readers to actually generate new fans. This could mean writers who need time to write in-depth articles can have their day in 2019.

Another blogging note is the importance of what many top-tier writers post on video content. If you’re going to make a push for coverage, it might be worth focusing on setting up office visit times to record a live session or interview with one of these outlets. These are harder to come by than a standard content post, but it’s a great way to build long-term support for the publication and will likely attract more new listeners. Be sure to research which blogs and magazines do these sessions and find out how to contact them, or hire a publicist who already has a relationship with them.

Players Will Listen, And There Will Be Many

No one can deny the monumental growth of espouses on youth culture that is happening nowadays. The gamer community has evolved into an important taste community, and they have their preferred ways of finding new music to promote.

Earlier this year, we had a client who was relatively new and had no tour dates or press to rely on. With the aforementioned Suicide Sheep YouTube channel and another channel with the game music hub Nightblue Music, we were able to launch a campaign that ended up aggregating over 20 million streams in the first three months across all services, and it just crossed 100 million streams in total for the first year. The Nightblue feature also generated countless remixes and helped strengthen artists’ presence on Spotify. Since then, they’ve managed to turn that initial buzz into a steady fanbase and big touring opportunities.

Globalization has made it easier than ever for people to access music from other cultures. With the click of a button, you can instantly stream or download songs from any corner of the globe. This globalization of music has led to a more diverse and interconnected world, where people from different cultures can share and enjoy each other’s music. In many ways, globalization has made the world a smaller and more connected place. And for music lovers, that can only be a good thing.

Localization of songs allows people to connect with the music on a personal level

localization of songs allows people to connect with the music on a personal level. When people can hear the words in their own language, it makes the song more relatable and enjoyable. It also helps people connect with the culture of the song. It also allows us to understand the lyrics on a deeper level, and appreciate the music on a more personal level. When we listen localization, we are able to hear the singer’s voice in our own language, which creates a sense of intimacy and connection. It also allows us to understand the lyrics on a deeper level, and appreciate the music on a more personal level.

Songs that are localized into other languages often have different meanings than the original versions

When a song is localized into another language, it often takes on a whole new meaning. The localized version may be based on the original, but the lyrics are often tweaked to better reflect the culture of the target audience. This can lead to some interesting results. For example, the localized version of “My Heart Will Go On” became a hit in Japan even though the original lyrics were about a love that had ended tragically. In contrast, the localized version of “You Raise Me Up” became a popular tearjerker in Korea even though the original lyrics were more uplifting. This shows how localized songs can often have completely different meanings than their originals.

Localization of songs can help people learn about other cultures and their customs

In today’s globalized world, it’s easier than ever to learn about other cultures and their customs. One of the best ways to do this is through music. When songs are localized – that is, when they’re translated into other languages – they can help people learn about other cultures in a fun and engaging way. localized songs can also help people to appreciate the diversity of the world we live in. In a world that is sometimes divided by culture and language, localized songs can help to bring us all together.

Listening to localized versions of famous songs can be a fun way to experience new music

There’s nothing quite like hearing a localized version of a famous song. Whether it’s a translation of the lyrics or a complete reworking of the melody, localized songs offer a unique perspective on well-known tunes. And, best of all, they’re usually a lot of fun to listen to. localized songs are a great way to experience new music, and they can often be found online or on streaming services. So next time you’re looking for something new to listen to, why not give a localized song a try? You might be surprised at how much you enjoy it.

How the localization of someone else’s song can help a band get to know the band performing the original

Music localization is the process of adapting a song to better fit the target culture. This can involve changing the lyrics to match the local language, adjusting the melody to suit local tastes, or even rewriting the entire song from scratch. localization can help a band to better connect with their audience and build a strong fan base. It can also be a useful tool for learning about other cultures and gaining new insights into the music of other bands. In some cases, localization can even help a band to get signed by a record label or bookings agency. Thus, localization can be a powerful tool for any band looking to broaden their horizons and build a stronger connection with their fans.

Collaborations with other groups – what are the advantages?

When two or more people work together towards a common goal, it’s called a collaboration. When we collaborate with other groups, we can pool our resources, knowledge, and skills to achieve something greater than we could alone. There are many advantages to collaborations between groups. First, we can share the workload and get more done in less time. Second, we can learn from each other and grow as individuals and as groups. Third, we can build trust and respect for each other. When we work together collaboratively, we can achieve more than we ever could alone.

Before Spotify, music was bought online track by track and album by album. Streaming services have changed the music industry. By subscribing to a streaming service, we can enjoy legitimate online music on multiple devices, gaining instant access to millions of tracks without having to download them to disk. Below is an overview of the best streaming music services you should know about.

Spotify

Spotify is the most popular streaming service. It allows you to listen to songs and entire albums for free, including the latest new releases, lesser-known artists, as well as themed playlists and playlists made by other users. The offerings are huge. You can search for music by genre and mood, new releases and hits. You can also rely on the service’s suggestions, given our previous choices. We can create our own playlists (click the “New Playlist” button in the lower left corner of the window). Our playlists sync between different devices. However, you cannot import your own music into the service to listen to it on multiple devices.

The service works through a browser and has apps for Windows, Linux, Mac-OS, Android, and iOS. Limitations of the free version include the inability to download music and skip tracks you don’t want to listen to, ads, and – in the case of mobile devices – only random playback of songs from a selected playlist (there is no this limitation on a computer). The premium version also offers better sound quality. Many users listen to Spotify in the free version, but switching to the paid version is incentivized by great deals.

TIDAL

Tidal provides access to 60 million songs and 240,000 music videos. It allows you to listen to music in lossless format (HiFi plan – 1411 kbps). However, you will have to pay a subscription every month for this pleasure… Tidal has apps for Android and iOS. It does not allow you to import music, but allows you to download and listen to it offline.

There is no free version, only a free trial period. After creating an account, we can choose which plan we will use. The HiFi plan is worth trying for free. To use Tidal, even for free, you need to enter your payment card details. Therefore, it is useful to know how to cancel the subscription before the end of the free period. After logging into your account, you need to click on the three dashes in the upper left corner and then on File, Settings. In Settings, go to the Account tab and click Renew Subscription. A new tab will open in the browser. Click on Subscription, and then click on the small text: Unsubscribe.

Deezer

Deezer is a slightly less popular music streaming service. Nevertheless, it’s worth taking a look at its offerings. It has over 53 million tracks available. What sets it apart is its ability to stream to many devices and platforms. It allows you to create playlists and import your own music. The company has apps for Android and iOS. Like Tidal, it allows you to listen to music in lossless format as part of a Deezer HiFi subscription. However, Deezer is free to use (ads, random playback within a playlist, no music downloads).

Apple Music

This service is not just for owners of Apple devices, but under Windows it does not run directly in the browser, but requires the installation of iTunes. It has applications for Android and iOS. Provides access to 50 million tracks. Allows you to import music. There is no free version, only a free trial period. The maximum audio quality is only the standard 320 kbps. Apple Music provides additional integration between iTunes on macOS and the Music app on iOS.

To use the service on Windows, you need to install the iTunes app. Once you launch it, go to the For You tab and click Next. Then select your subscription type and click Start Trial. The cost for the first three months is £0.99. Enter your Apple account details (you’ll need to enter payment card details to set up) and click Buy. Then just click Get Started and pre-configure the service to work. You will find your music in the Browse tab.

Currently, the market for music listening applications is very large. Moreover, there is every reason to believe that we will see significant growth in the coming years. We hope that you were able to find something for yourself.
